TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA, USA, May 31, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Resident of Tampa Bay, Florida, Bruce Burk announced today that his application has been selected, and that he will now be one of this year’s “busprenuers” StartupBus pitch competition.

“Stop dreaming. Start pitching. Let StartupBus accelerate you to be the change you want to see,” reads the website for this traveling incubator/accelerator focused on rapid development and product creation, during a three-day ad hoc team road trip to AustinTexas.

“An experience like no other,” promises the website. A hackathon. A media production. A start-up competition. A package tour bus. The StartupBus is all of that, and none of that. StartupBus is a life-changing experience – challenging top talent to hop on a bus and design, build and launch a startup in just days.

“That’s exactly why I decided to apply,” says Belleair, Florida entrepreneur Bruce Burke. “I have several friends from the Tampa Bay tech scene who have been on the StartupBus before. I see what it’s done for their exposure, and I’ve seen some of the opportunities that have arisen since they took on the challenge.

Burke went on to share that the pandemic had ruined his business which focused on in-person conferences and trade shows for the fintech services industry. “I’m ready to restart my life and my career post-lockdown, and I need to use all the ramps I can to get myself out of this valley,” Burke said. “I need to kickstart my life, and that requires guerrilla marketing techniques, StartupBus offers a great platform for such performance.”

“I can’t wait to get on the bus,” Burke said. “But I need sponsorship to help me make this trip a reality. I hope to find a company, people or a group of people who can help me raise the necessary funds,” said Burke: “There is a cost to take the bus, plus hotels and food along the way, and then a flight home after all the activities. I estimated the costs at $2,000 to enter the StartupBus contest, I hope to be able to raise funds.

StartupBus says they attract crazy people, foreigners, dooers, do-it-yourselfers, adventurers. They evaluate everyone who applies and put the best in their competition, a unique experience that connects entrepreneurs to the hundreds of people who have gone before them.

People who are eager to create people who are eager to learn, people who are open to unique perspectives, and people who are able to work in a team despite the most difficult constraints. It’s no coincidence that StartupBus has seen several billion-dollar companies form from their alumni. In most cases with each other. The Instacart application is from the StartupBus ecosystem.

For 2022, seven routes are lined up, recruiting in 11 regions and heading to Austin, Texas, where the final pitch competition takes place. Teams from Florida, Texas, New York, California and Mexico will participate in this year’s event. A new Advancing Black Entrepreneurs bus is also departing from Ohio, as well as a Tech Latinxs bus from Miami, Florida.

StartupBus is back where it all started. Over the past 15 years, Austin has become a hub for high-tech companies in many areas of specialization, including a plethora of start-ups offering SaaS and mobile apps. Austin continues to become one of America’s premier technology hubs.

Many say it now rivals Silicon Valley and could emerge from the Covid-19 crisis from a business perspective even better than its Californian counterpart. “It’s incredibly exciting,” Burke reports. “As I crawl myself and out of the pandemic, I am using whatever resources I can muster in efforts to rebuild my life.”

The competition begins on July 27 with the departure of the buses from their respective cities. They each take a separate route, stopping along the way at startup centers to practice pitching, meet experts, and learn from thought leaders and breakout sessions. The teams converge in Austin, Texas on July 31 for the final pitch competition and awards ceremony.
